Maran HaRav Asher Weiss Shlita
Rav Asher Weiss shlita is among the most renowned and respected international halachic authorities. His unique blend of extraordinary Torah knowledge and profound insight brings disciples to hear his lectures, which are given weekly all over Israel. Rav Weiss also lectures to groups of doctors, lawyers, and other professionals seeking halachic guidance in their specialist fields. A prolific writer, Rav Weiss has written a hugely popular series on insights on different tractates of the Talmud, and, most recently, a book on Medical Halachic Issues - From the Responsa Minchas Asher, which was extremely well received by an unprecedented spectrum of the Jewish community. Rav Weiss is the Av Beis Din of Beis Darchei Torah and Rosh Kollel of a prestigious Kollel in Jerusalem, where Torah scholars receive training in halachic ruling, and go on to serve communities as Rabbanim and Dayanim. Rav Weiss also serves as the Rabbi of the world renowned Shaarei Zedek hospital in Jerusalem, and is responsible for answering questions that require a blend of Torah erudition, a background in medical knowledge, and unique sensitivity to the medical issues involved.

Rabbi Professor Avraham Steinberg
Rabbi Professor Steinberg, MD, studied in the Rabbinic Academy of Yeshivat Harav Kook, Jerusalem after which he studied medicine and completed his internship in the Hebrew-University Hadassa Medical School, Jerusalem. Prof. Steinberg served as a Medical Officer in the Israeli Air Force and was a resident in the department of Pediatrics, Shaare Zedek, and the department of Neurology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Hospital Medical Center, Bronx, New York, after which he became a fellow in same department of the Albert Einstein College. He currently works as a physician in Pediatric Neurology, Shaare Zedek Medical Center and is the Director of The Center for Medical Ethics, Hebrew University-Hadassa Medical School, Jerusalem.

Rabbi Dr. Akiva Tatz
Rabbi Dr. Tatz, MD, Founder and Director of the Jerusalem Medical Ethics Forum and staff member at Ohr Somayach, is an internationally acclaimed lecturer, author and expert on Jewish thought and Philosophy. Originally from Johannesburg and currently a resident of London, Rabbi Dr. Tatz is a graduate with distinction in Surgery of the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School.. After working as a doctor in both South Africa and the United States he moved to Israel where he practiced general medicine. Rabbi Dr. Tatz gives lectures to Jewish student groups and organizations worldwide, including an annual medical ethics lecture at University College London,

Rabbi Dr. Aaron E. Glatt
Rabbi Dr. Aaron E. Glatt, MD, is the Chairman of Medicine and Chief of Infectious Diseases/Hospital Epidemiologist at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, NY. Rabbi Glatt is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a spokesperson for the Infectious Diseases Society of America as well as Assistant Rabbi at the Young Israel of Woodmere. He is an international lecturer on numerous medical and halachic topics, author of seforim including a sefer on Bikur Cholim, and is the chair of the Rabbinical Alliance of America’s Halacha and Medicine Commission.

Rabbi Dr. Edward Reichman
Rabbi Dr. Edward Reichman, MD, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine as well as a Professor in the Division of Education and Bioethics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He received his rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University and writes and lectures internationally in the field of Jewish medical ethics. He has been a mentor of the Medical Ethics Society of Yeshiva University since its inception. His research is devoted to the interface of medical history and Jewish law. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Rabbi Dr. Reichman is an Attending Physician in Montefiore Medical Center’s Emergency Medicine Department.

Dr. Wendy Chung
Dr. Wendy Chung, MD PhD, is a clinical and molecular geneticist and the Kennedy Family Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine. She received her B.A. in biochemistry and economics from Cornell University, her M.D. from Cornell University Medical College, and her Ph.D. from The Rockefeller University in genetics. Dr. Chung directs NIH funded research programs in human genetics of obesity, breast cancer, pulmonary hypertension, autism, and birth defects including congenital diaphragmatic hernia, esophageal atresias, and congenital heart disease. She is a national leader in the ethical, legal, and social implications of genomics.

Dr. Liza Johannesson
Dr. Liza Johannesson, MD PhD, specializes in obstetrics and gynecology with a special interest in gynecologic oncology and transplantation. She graduated from the Nobel Prize awarding Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Her residency in obstetrics and gynecology was completed at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden, followed by fellowships in gynecologic oncology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide, Australia. She started performing research in 2009 on Uterus Transplantation and presented her thesis in 2012. She was a pivotal part of the world pioneering first clinical human trial of Uterus Transplantation that started in Sweden 2012 and so far resulted in 9 live births. Since 2016 she is the Medical Director of Uterus Transplantation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas which is currently the largest Uterus Transplant program in the world. She is an assistant professor of Surgery at Texas A&M. She is president elect of the U.S. Uterus Transplant Consortium (USUTC) and serves in the Vascular Composite Allograft (VCA) committee for American Society of Transplant Surgery (ASTS).

Dr. Jerry Levine
Dr. Levine is the Director of Pediatric Gastroenterology in the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Director at the Fink Children's Ambulatory Care Center, NYU Langone Medical Center, as well as a Professor of Pediatrics at the NYU School of Medicine. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Levine completed his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, his clinical fellowship at the Children's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston and a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Levine’s areas of expertise include Chron’s Disease, Celiac Disease, Colitis, liver diseases and IBS in the pediatric population. He is Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatrics.

Dr. Gary R. Lichtenstein
Dr. Gary Lichtenstein, MD, is the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center and a Professor of Medicine in the Gastrointestinal Division of the Department of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in New York. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He also served a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His current research interests encompass investigational therapies for the treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Dr. Lichtenstein has received numerous research grants focusing on these areas and has served as the national/ international principal investigator evaluating novel agents for therapeutic trials in the treatment of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease.

Dr. David Pelcovitz
Dr. David Pelcovitz, PhD, has served for more than two decades as director of psychology at North Shore University Hospital-NYU School of Medicine and clinical professor of psychology at NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Pelcovitz has consulted extensively with the Jewish community in the United States, Europe and Israel on a wide range of issues facing children and adolescents. He holds the Gwendolyn and Joseph Straus Chair in Psychology and Jewish Education at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration at Yeshiva University and is special assistant to President Richard M. Joel. Dr. Pelcovitz, who received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, has published and lectured extensively on a variety of topics related to education, parenting and child mental health.

Dr Rachel Weinerman
Dr. Rachel Weinerman, MD OBGYN is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Harvard College. Dr. Weinerman practices Reproductive Endocrinology at University Hospitals Fertility Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University School of Medicine in New York and her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. Currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals, Dr. Weinerman has expertise in many areas of Infertility Treatment and is board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Obstetrics-Gynecology.

Jeffry Adest, JD, is a Partner/Director at Garfunkel Wild, P.C. He joined the firm in 1999 and is a member of the firm’s Health Care, Business and HIPAA Compliance practice groups. Mr. Adest represents numerous federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), health system hospitals, physicians, dentists, nursing homes, behavioral health providers, labs, outpatient facilities, health homes, management services organizations and other health care clients in a variety of corporate and regulatory transactions and matters in both New York and New Jersey. Mr. Adest is a frequent lecturer on a variety of issues, including FQHC issues; HIPAA compliance issues, physician practice issues and nursing home issues.
Mr. Adest was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1996, the New York Bar in 1997 and the Connecticut Bar in 2013. He is a member of the New York Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Adest received his B.S. from Yeshiva University in 1992 and his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1995.
